Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring guests experience the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort during their stay. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s linens, towels, and other laundry items by following proper washing, drying, folding, and storage procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial washing, drying, and pressing machines efficiently.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store linens, towels, and uniforms according to hotel standards.
- Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues.
- Ensure all equipment, fixtures, and appliances are clean and in working order, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness in the laundry room, staff room, and assigned spaces.
- Follow Marriott’s safety and sanitation policies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist guests with special requests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Work efficiently to meet daily room cleaning targets while ensuring high-quality service.
- Assist other housekeeping staff as needed.
- Maintain and restock laundry equipment/chemicals daily.
- Follow opening and closing checklist.
- Employees will be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Weekends, holidays, evenings, and on call basis are common.
- Immediately log and store all lost and found items.
- May be rotated in and out of all areas of the hotel and called on for assistance.
- Greet all guests and co-workers in a friendly manner.
- Answer all guests questions regarding the hotel and local area facilities and services.
- Carry out any reasonable request by management.
- Maintain a safe work area at all times.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive tasks determined by the housekeeping manager or supervisor. Performance will be monitored using tools such as checking areas, measuring attendance, punctuality, and teamwork. Performance reviews are conducted annually.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous laundry attendant experience is a huge plus but not required—training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
