The Wellings of Picton is a vibrant community for independent adults who are 55+.
We are currently looking for employees who are flexible in the work place and would like to work in one or more departments.
Positions available are for Housekeepers, Front of House Servers, and Dishwashers.
We are looking for full and part-time employees. Shifts are between 4 and 8 hours and run throughout the day & early evening, 12 to 40 hours per week dependent on position.
This is not a seasonal position. We are open everyday and candidates must be available on weekends, weekdays, and public holidays.
All positions include the following duties:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer services
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations, customer service guidelines and be aware of any company-related practices
- Work with team members & independently to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Be able to work with various pieces of equipment (dishwasher, vacuums, carpet cleaners, point of sale)
- manage time effectively to complete all assigned tasks within the allocated time.

HOUSEKEEPERS:
- Perform general housekeeping/cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, washrooms, stairwells, elevators, members & guests suites
- Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, carpet cleaning, polishing and sanitizing surfaces
- Handle laundry tasks
- Any other housekeeping related duties

FRONT OF HOUSE SERVERS:
- Present daily menus, take orders for food and drink
- Set tables & Serve meals
- Follow dining room open & closing procedures
- Follow food safety guidelines when handling and packaging food items
- assist with kitchen duties, such as dishwashing, basic food preparation, cleaning, food service, inventory, and other related duties

DISHWASHERS:
- operate a commercial dishwasher
- be able to organize, stack, rinse, run dishes/cutlery/etc. through the machine & put all items away
- handwashing, when necessary, follow the 3-sink method
- help with running food to tables & clearing tables
- assist with basic food service & preparation
- any other related duties

Qualifications:
- all positions are physically demanding, successful candidates must be comfortable on their feet, be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, lift, and carry items.
- Previous experience with housekeeping, food service, dishwashing or any hospitality setting is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Smart serve certificate &/or food handlers certificate an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
