Job Summary
As a Housekeeping Staff member, you play a vital role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests. You will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and supporting daily hotel operations. Your attention to detail, reliability, and team-oriented mindset will help ensure an excellent guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to hotel standards
- Change linens, towels, and replenish guest room amenities
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in storage areas and housekeeping carts
- Follow the daily cleaning list provided by the front desk staff and update room status accordingly
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or broken equipment to maintenance promptly
- Assist with laundry duties, including washing, folding, and distributing linens and towels
- Ensure that high-traffic public areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms, are clean and inviting
- Restock housekeeping supplies and monitor inventory levels on your cart and storage rooms
- Assist in training new housekeeping staff and support team members during busy periods
- Cooperate with front desk staff to respond to guest requests, complaints, or special needs
- Participate in deep cleaning projects, seasonal room cleaning.
- Uphold hotel policies, procedures, and Choice Hotels brand standards
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain high standards of guest satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hospitality setting is required.
- Work independently to complete assigned rooms within the franchise’s housekeeping time standards
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and proper safety procedures
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, bend, climb stairs, and perform physically demanding and repitetive tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Professional, courteous, and reliable attitude
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to support colleagues
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Familiarity with hotel operations and front desk coordination is a plus
- Willingness to follow standard operating procedures and brand-specific housekeeping protocols
