The Hockey Facilitator is a part time evening and weekend position responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all hockey league operations, games, and tournaments. This role plays a vital part in delivering a positive experience for members and players, while overseeing the smooth facilitation of league and tournament activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of hockey leagues, tournaments, and team activities.
- Manage team scheduling, communication, and player registration.
- Schedule and oversee ice bookings for games, practices, and events.
- Recruit, schedule, and support referees and timekeepers.
- Organize jersey orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain strong communication with members, teams, and staff.
- Support marketing and promotion of league events and registration.
- Provide on-site logistical support for tournaments and special events.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of hockey rules, game operations, and league structure.
- Experience coordinating recreational or youth/adult sports programs.
- Background in facility or arena management is an asset.
- Hockey Canada (or equivalent) coaching/officiating certification is an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills..
- Proficient with digital tools (e.g., Team Snap, Excel, or similar platforms)
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Must pass a background check.
- Part-time position on site - 20 hours per week, working evenings and weekends.
