Position Overview
We are currently hiring Health Care Aides (HCAs) for a leading healthcare facility in Fort McMurray, AB. As an HCA with GHHS, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily living activities and enhancing their quality of life in a respectful and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Support mobility and transfer needs, including use of lifts and other assistive devices
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents and clients
- Record and report changes in client conditions to nursing staff
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients
- Follow care plans, facility protocols, and GHHS standards of service
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Health Care Aide program
- Minimum 6-9 months of recent experience working in long-term care, retirement homes, or hospital settings
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the past 6 months)
- Completed 2-Step TB Test (within the past 6 months) and/or Chest X-ray (within the past year)
- Up-to-date immunization records (including MMR, Tdap, etc.)
- Proof of 2 or 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccination
