We operate two (2) adjoining hotel properties in Richmond Hill - Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and the Best Western Parkway Hotel. We are conveniently located on the north east corner of Highway 7 and Leslie Street, readily accessible by highways 7, 404 and 407, and offer complimentary parking for associates and guests. We are also readily accessble by YRT/Viva Transit.

We are currently recruiting for one (1) FULL TIME and one (1) PART TIME Guest Services Agents to join out Front Office team.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The duties of GSA include, but are not limited to the following;

1. Acts as back up for hotel switchboard operator (breaks, lunch, sick, etc)

2. Handles incoming calls for room reservations when Reservations department is closed

3. Handles guest check ins/check outs

4. Responds quickly to guest requests/concerns in a friendly and professional manner at all times, follows up to ensure guest satisfaction

5. Corrects any rate discrepancies and ensures that room charges are posted to guest accounts correctly in a timely manner

6. Prints folios as requested by different departments and/or guests

7. Verifies that charges have been processed properly

8. Maintains cashier float as supplied

9. Efficiently prepares cash deposits and reports shortages and overages on daily basis

10. Communicates with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request and/or provide information

11. Makes daily notations in Log Books and follows up as required

12. Cross trained to work in Club Lounge as/when required.

13. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of our hotel facilities and features

14. Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and behaviour

15. Understands and follows property standards.

16. Must be able to assist the concierge for baggage handling

17. Other duties as may be assigned by the Front Office Supervisor, Front Office Manager, Director of Rooms Division and/or General Manager

Physical Demands; Required to stand for long periods of time, using computer, calculators.

Qualifications:

1. Must be flexible with availability for scheduling to include, AM shifts (7am - 3:30pm) , mid-shifts and PM (3pm - 11:30pm) shifts when required.

2. Must have availability for weekend scheduling (Saturday and Sunday).

3. Must have valid SmartServe certification

4. Knowledge of Galaxy Lightspeed and/or Opera an asset

5. Must have ability to handle fast paced, multi-tasking, stressful environment

6. Must have excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills

7. Must have completed minimum Secondary School Certificate

8. Must currently hold legal authorization to work in Canada

9. Preference given to candidates enrolled in or graduate of a post secondary hospitality/hotel management program

10. Previous computerized hotel and/or front desk experience an asset

11. Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision.
