This position commences September 2025 and is located in a busy dish room environment.
Subject to intermittent layoffs during holidays and reading breaks.
Requirements:
- Must be available for daytime work, may include weekends.
- Level 1 Food Safe is required.
- Assists in the preparation of food.
- Washes, cleans, and prepares vegetables and fruit for cooking and salad use.
- Mixes juices as assigned.
- Portions desserts and prepares sandwich fillings as directed.
- Sets and clears dining room tables, arranging them to meet user requirements.
- Transports food, supplies, and equipment to and from the kitchen, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators.
- Readies and refills drink dispensers and stocks condiments and food in serving areas.
- Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Dispenses food and beverages to customers.
- Waits on tables when required.
- Cleans work areas, equipment, and fixtures.
- Prepares soiled dishes and cutlery for the dishwashing machine.
- Stacks and sorts clean dishes and cutlery.
- Performs laundry duties and other related work as required.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a well-organized work area.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping practices, and the operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Ability to learn routines related to food service, including assisting in food preparation and cleanup.
- Serving It Right Certification by the British Columbia Liquor Control Board may be required, depending on the work assignment.
