Job Summary
The Lawn Maintenance Machine Operator/Laborer is responsible to assist in the maintenance and improvement of the golf course and grounds including but not limited to golf course maintenance, course setup, irrigation, operation of golf course equipment and hand tools.
Key Areas of Responsibilities and Associated Duties
- Perform golf course maintenance and improvements
- Be trained on and Operate equipment as required
- Participates in the daily setup for play
- Rake the bunkers
- Cut and trim golf course greens, tees, fairways and roughs
- Cut weeds and brush
- Tree trimming
- Assist with watering the roughs
- Grades and prepares base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees and fairways
- Maintain the cleanliness of golf course equipment
- Assist with loading and unloading materials
- Assist in closing the course for winter by making appropriate and timely end-of-season chemical and fertilization applications, assisted and directed by Golf Superintendent.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience as a laborer
- Knowledge and safe operation of golf course maintenance equipment
- Previous work on a golf course preferred, but not required
- Be available for work every day at discretionary hours
- Approach responsibilities in an organized and energetic manner
- Completed WHIMS training at Pike Lake.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to use power and hand tools

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: Up to $17.20 per hour
