Pastaggio is an artisan fresh pasta company based in East Vancouver. We specialize in bronze die extruded, handmade & laminated fresh pasta using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients and locally whenever possible. We are seeking a dedicated and talented Full-Time Prep Cook to join our team and contribute to our mission of bringing authentic high quality Italian flavors to the community.
MUST have 2 years experience working in a professional commercial kitchen or full service restaurant.
Job Summary
As a Full -Time Prep Cook at Pastaggio, you will play a crucial role in our day-to-day kitchen operations by making large quantities of fresh pasta, large batch cooking, pasta sauces, assembling ready to bake meals, portioning, packaging, and assisting with any/other food prep required for our catering, wholesale, retail & farmer’s market divisions. You will work closely with the Production Manager & Head Chef to ensure all products meet our high standards of quality and freshness. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for food and Italian cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in preparation and production of fresh pasta and other menu items according to establishes recipes and standards.
· Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
· Prepare and process ingredients (eg. making pasta, breads, pastries, chopping vegetables, making sauces.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, tools and equipment in accordance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
· Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
· Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely production.
· Adhere to all food safety and hygiene practices.
Qualifications
· Two years experience REQUIRED as a prep cook or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen or full service restaurant.
· Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· A passion for cooking & fresh pasta.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and direction accurately.
· Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
· Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and holiday shifts as needed.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 20kg, crouch, bend.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
