Position Title: Floral Processor/ Receiver
Reports to: Store Manager
Direct Reports: NA
Hours of Work: Full Time (35 Hours/week)
Position Summary: The Floral Processor/ Receiver is responsible for the unloading, unpacking, and processing of all flowers that arrive at our store in preparation for purchase and design. Safe handling and knowledge of all flowers is an asset.
Position Responsibilities:
- Process incoming flowers by cutting, hydrating, treating them prior to storage and verify product count against invoices
- Review and inspect incoming perishable products for quality and freshness.
- Routinely account for inventory controlled by the floral department and submit counts and reports to the Floral Department Manager
- Handle flowers and product procurement
- Process incoming blooming/ green plants and foliage upon arrival. Verify product count against invoices
- Check on inventory of all new products and supplies upon arrival and adjust inventory
- Knowledge of names and care for different flowers and greenery
- Perform daily Quality Control functions to ensure the preservation and longevity of the inventory
- Rotate flowers for freshness
- Maintain flower display
- Clean flower coolers
- Oversee the layout and organization of the cooler.
- Clean vases and buckets
- Stock shelves and put away supplies.
- Sweep and keep floral work room and storage areas clean and organized.
- Oversee the reception of hard goods/supplies and verify product count against invoices
- Unload, organize and store hard goods/supplies in stock room
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced environment
- Experience working with flowers (asset)
- Completion of Secondary School or equivalent

Conditions of work:
- Flexible schedule required, including regular weekend availability
- Peak business periods will require extended hours of work
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

- May be assigned to alternate location to ensure business continuity (transportation provided)

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
