We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join our North American Finance team. This role will be located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid work schedule.
The Financial Analyst will be accountable for reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, building financial models, product pricing analysis and sales commission planning for the Region. This role will be accountable for divisional financial reporting, budgeting, costing, tax and preparation of financial reports specifically for Canada. Participate in creating and implementing policies and procedures relating to business processes and internal controls. Identify areas of opportunity where costs may be reduced, effectiveness and efficiency of resource utilization may be improved, and provide insight and recommendations. Adhere to appropriate accounting and finance principles. Provide appropriate reporting, analysis, and feedback.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Finance (FP&A) support locally for Canada business partners.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Canada sales compensation, in close partnership with US counterpart and North America leadership and strategy. Core responsibilities include: sales commission calculations, payments and quota setting; management of Xactly tool and sales reporting environment.
- Collaborate with sales operations, marketing, and CRM teams to drive sales insights to local and regional leadership.
- Assists with analysis and review of the organization’s financial performance by collecting, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting operational, financial and statistical data.
- Responsible for Canada component of North America’s month-end, quarterly and year-end reporting for Sales, Gross Profit, and EBITDA.
- Responsible for Personnel Expense (PEX) & Operational Expenses (OPEX) management & reporting.
- Work with local department leads on forecasting for future quarters as required in collaboration with US counterpart.
- Prepares annual budgeting process for Canadian entity with active collaboration with department leads.
- Manage research and development program for CRA and accounting requirements.
- Coordination and participate in year-end tax and audit work as assigned.
- Responsible for development and maintenance of standard manufacturing costs, variance analysis, analyzes trends and provides recommendations to leadership.
- Pricing design & analytics - partner with local leadership and conduct analysis on pricing for market for budget, new product releases, discounts, partner programs, threshold agreements etc.
- P&L risk management analysis & reporting
- Provide support to relevant groups in finding solutions to financial questions and issues.
Qualifications
- University degree in Business/Finance with advanced degree or professional designation (such as: CA, CPA, CMA, CMT)
- 2-3 years of experience and knowledge of all aspects of Financial Management and Accounting.
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or medical device environment preferable; good understanding of FP&A and Corporate Finance; understanding of financial policies and practices and Canada GAAP; and of German IFRS a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding financial records, pension, profit sharing, tax and the like is essential.
- Knowledge Financial Analysis, budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel expert (V-look ups, pivot tables, macros, VBA a plus); PowerQuery and PowerBI or similar data management and visualization experience a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
