The Field Service Technician role is just that, a Heavy Construction Equipment Technician that works primarily in the field.
There will some in shop time as required but your role will be for the most part on the road. We have service trucks/service crane trucks/service vans/ lube trucks..........whatever it takes to keep our equipment working and our clients with 100% uptime, RTI Equipment Solutions has it for you to use.
We are looking for Technicians across the province to assist us!!!
Job Duties include, but not limited to :
- Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components.
- Inspect, repair and adjust diesel powered units.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents / injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Diagnose defects in heavy equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required.
- Installation of new and added-on equipment.
- Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Accurate completion of work orders.
- Repair cooling, and lubrication systems.
- Repair mechanical transmissions, drive-trains and final drives.
- Repair cable-operated working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, electric generators, etc.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Other mechanical repair work as required.
- Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with clear oral and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
- Complete work with attention to detail to produce a quality product.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- 421A preferred.
- 310T an asset.
- DZ an asset.
Work Conditions
- A company service vehicle will be supplied when travel is required to various sites.
- Safety equipment will be required such as safety boots.
- Indoor and outdoor environments; and various weather conditions.
- Weekend work may be required.

Summary
As a Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Reporting to the Service Manager, your core skills in mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and heavy equipment operation will be essential in diagnosing issues and performing repairs. Your premium skills in working with excavators, bulldozers, and industrial equipment will enhance our service offerings. Strong communication and organizational skills are vital for effective customer service and collaboration with team members, making you a key asset in our operations.
