Fence Labourer – Part-Time (Opportunity to Lead to Full-Time)

Pacific Fence Co. is hiring a reliable, hardworking Fence Labourer to join our team. We build quality residential and commercial fences across mid-Vancouver Island and are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is ready to learn a valuable trade.
About the Role
You will assist in the construction and installation of various fence types, including wood, metal, composite, and vinyl. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment
- Prepare job sites, including digging post holes and mixing concrete
- Assist in fence layout, installation, and finishing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and worksite protocols
- Work efficiently as part of a team and follow direction from lead installers
Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Valid driver’s licence
- Basic experience with hand and power tools is an asset
- Previous experience in fencing, construction, or landscaping is an asset but not required
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job
Position Details
- Part-time to start, with the opportunity for full-time hours based on performance and workload
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
- Paid training and safety equipment provided
- Work is based in Nanaimo with projects across Vancouver Island
