This is a full time on-site role for a Family Lawyer based in Edmonton. The Family Lawyer will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, including but not limited to, divorce, custody, support, and property division. The role involves providing legal counsel, drafting and reviewing legal documents, representing clients in court, and negotiating settlements. The Family Lawyer will also participate in mediations and collaborate with other legal professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients. This position does not require the candidate to have a book a business. The candidate will join our existing family department and will have the benefit of a collaborative and experienced team of professionals.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Divorce and Family Law matters
- Courtroom experience and litigation skills
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Negotiation and mediation skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work efficiently under pressure
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
