Job Overview
The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general facility and property maintenance. Duties include: routine maintenance inspections of boiler rooms, HVAC units, overhead and man doors, pumps, motors, and associated equipment. Other duties include painting, drywall repairs, ceiling tile replacement, caulking, and small plumbing. Complete corrective maintenance and repairs, record service reports as required. Respond to tenant maintenance requests.
Duties
- Review preventative and corrective maintenance work orders daily.
- Working under limited supervision when supporting assigned work orders.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including possible short-notice changes to accommodate operational needs
- Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of boilers, HVAC units (RTU), pumps, fan units, control panels, plumbing systems, and thermostats and be able to perform basic plumbing repairs
- Perform and document regular facility maintenance inspections of the aircraft hangers, terminals, common areas, and facility exterior.
- Generate and present regular corrective action updates of facility and/or tenant-initiated issues.
- Respond to tenant’s service requests within standards established for safety, time, comfort, and cleanliness.
- Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures, including emergency systems, pumps/motors and boiler systems.
- Maintain a high level of communication with our tenants, ensuring they are informed on any issues that may arise.
- Ensure the planned maintenance programs/activities for the properties are completed on budget and time.
- Inspect work performed by outside contractors as required.
- Perform minor repair jobs including but not limited to: minor plumbing, carpentry, masonry, minor electrical and drywall repairs, climbing ladders, moving furniture, and lifting/carrying heavy loads as needed.
- Inspect and maintain all safety equipment including fire pumps, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and fall arrest equipment.
- Comply with corporate policies and safety protocols while carrying out all assigned tasks.
- Comply with all applicable municipal, provincial and federal codes and regulations.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
- Perform other various similar and related duties as required by Management.
- On-call weekends and holidays – as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.

Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience and/or trade school training.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have earned their journeyman certification in either electrical, HVAC or plumbing designation.
- General knowledge of plumbing systems and ability to perform basic plumbing repairs
- Experience in facility maintenance or a construction environment. (Aviation preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License (must provide Driver’s Abstract).
- Able to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work as a team, and work independently.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with social skills
- Professional, punctual, meticulous, and diligent.
- Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.

Pay: $51,075.85-$70,276.08 per year
