We are seeking a licensed and experienced G2 Gas Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and equipment in accordance with TSSA regulations and safety standards. This role requires a high level of technical skill, customer service, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair natural gas and propane appliances (e.g., furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces).
- Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot gas systems and related equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., TSSA, CSA).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.
- Conduct inspections and tests on systems to ensure safety and functionality.
- Communicate clearly with customers, providing explanations of work performed and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used.
- Work independently or as part of a team in residential and/or light commercial environments.
- Respond to emergency calls and be available for on-call rotation (if applicable).
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, clean condition.
Qualifications:
- Valid G2 Gas Technician license (TSSA-certified).
- Minimum [5+] years of hands-on experience in gas appliance service and installation.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of gas codes, safety practices, and diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) certification for HVAC work.
- WHMIS and working-at-heights certifications.
- Experience with HVAC controls or smart home integrations.
