About Purpose Construction

Purpose Construction is a non-profit social enterprise that provides paid, on-the-job trades training and wraparound supports for people with barriers to employment. Our participants include Indigenous peoples, newcomers to Canada, and individuals transitioning out of the justice system. Our goal is to support individuals in building stable, long-term careers while building affordable housing in Winnipeg’s inner city.

Our growing team is made up of individuals who are passionate about social change and who believe in the potential of every person. We offer employment in a great team, with full benefits and a supportive workplace.

About the Employment Specialist Role

As an Employment Specialist, you will provide one-on-one support to our training program participants, helping them gain and maintain meaningful employment. Working as part of our support services team, you will assist with job readiness preparation, facilitate job interviews and job search support, and collaborate with employers to promote inclusive hiring practices. This role is hands-on and community-focused. You’ll spend time in the office, in the field supporting clients at job sites, and in meetings with local employers. You’ll work closely with the training team, support services staff, and external partners to ensure each participant receives the individualized support they need to succeed.
