About the Role
As a Part Time Emergency Housing Intake Worker, you’ll be a front-line hero connecting people in crisis to life saving resources and compassionate care. You’ll work out of our warming and cooling centre, supporting individuals who need emergency shelter, basic amenities and safe space to regroup.
As a Support Counsellor, you’ll be a key part of that transformation. Your impact will include:
- Welcoming and supporting vulnerable individuals seeking shelter and essential services
- Providing access to showers, laundry, food, and hygiene supplies
- Collaborating with our Housing Services team to deliver wraparound services
- Using a harm reduction approach to meet people where they’re at
- Maintaining accurate documentation in multiple electronic systems
- Participating in case management meetings and liaising with community partners
Position Details
- 2 to 3 shifts per week, mostly afternoons, mostly Friday through Monday

Requirements and Qualifications
- College diploma in related Social/Human Sciences
- Minimum 1 year experience (placement or paid) in therapeutic or correctional settings
- Tech-savvy with MS Office and database skills
- Accessibility to reliable transportation
- Resilience and emotional awareness to manage vicarious trauma
- Comfort working in diverse environments, including client homes and public spaces which may include exposure to smoking environments
