NAC is currently seeking an Electrical Foreperson, for various Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects initially in Kemptville, ON. Furnished accommodations provided to qualified non-local candidates.
Job Description
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of NAC'S Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual.
- Build and maintain a good work ethic and working relationship with the site team, entire project workforce and encourage positive morale.
- Ensure you are knowledgeable in your trade and confidently lead a team.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Install MCC's, High Voltage Switchgear and Stress Cones.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to identify hazards or locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem and ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Work with and maintain all tools in a safe manner.
- Install distribution and instrumentation equipment
Requirements
- 3+ years of leadership experience (Lead Hand or Foreperson) commercial/industrial industry.
- Must hold a valid Red Seal Electrician certification
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
- Experience working with rigid steel conduit, cable tray, high voltage systems, EMT conduit, motor controls.
- Experience with MCC and PLC wiring, understanding of PLC's.
- Knowledge of cable pulls and set up of cable pulls required.
- Knowledge of safe operation of tools.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
- Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, Fall Arrest or Working at Heights and Confined Space certificates are required.
