Dedicated Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday
Job Duties
- Read and thoroughly understand detailed electrical wiring diagrams and work instructions, cross referencing parts lists to ensure meticulous assembly.
- Utilize a routing board to lay out and organize wires and ensure they are in the correct position for crimping and connecting.
- Install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, and wiring.
- Route, crimp, and solder wires, as well as assemble and install other components.
- Complete numerous hand assembly operations with the use of hand and small power tools, crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers.
- Inspect electronic components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection and placement, wiring and crimping quality and proper pin insertions
- When instructed or required complete repairs on damaged harnesses.
- Attention to detail, excellent hand dexterity
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Assembly tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
- Physical requirements include standing, lifting, as well as push/pull motion
- Ability to distinguish coloured wires for accurate assembly purposes
- Education in areas such as electrical or electro-mechanical technology is an asset.
- Vocational training in electronics, mechanical drawings, science, mathematics, and computer technology is also considered an asset.
- Understanding of electrical principles and components.
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Able to interpret electrical drawings and read schematics.
