Job Summary
The mandate of the Kings Historical Society is to preserve and promote the cultural and natural history of Kings County for present and future generations and works toward mandate fulfillment through the operation of the Kings County Museum. The Kings County Museum welcomes hundreds of visitors every year, hosts exhibitions on local history, offers free programming for the community, and provides a space for dynamic and culturally diverse conversation. The Kings County Museum also maintains a collection of over 25,000 artifacts that are important and representative of the history of the area.

This is a summer internship position for people under 30. The Education and Interpretive Assistant supports the Kings County Museum’s educational, public, and interpretive programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing educational programming for a variety of age groups, giving tours, arranging public programming, assisting with events, and communicating with external organizations to arrange partnerships and donations. The successful candidate may also complete some administrative tasks in the main office such as processing purchases and donations.
