Meaningful work you’ll be part of

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategic Business Leader (i.e. a Transformation Architect) to join our Technology Strategy & Transformation team, playing a pivotal role in shaping, and driving technology and data strategies across our Canadian Government clients, particularly in the Outsourcing space.

You will be responsible for aligning business and technology strategies, translating technical concepts into executive-level content and communications, and enabling effective decision-making by our client’s senior technology leaders. You will be part of our national Technology Strategy & Transformation team helping customers solve large-scale strategic business problems with technology-enabled solutions.

As a Technology Strategy & Transformation Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Technology Guidance: Leverage your industry depth and knowledge of key trends, emerging technologies and leading practices to provide strategic technology guidance to our government clients. Stay ahead of current trends and likely disruptors in the Public Sector industry, enabling the identification of innovative solutions and opportunities for growth in the delivery of government services and operations. You will serve as a trusted advisor to CIO/CTOs and their leadership teams, building and maintaining relationships with these leaders to support their priorities and transformation journeys.

  • IT Outsourcing: Support clients throughout their outsourcing lifecycle journey from initial strategy through to end-of-contract deal reviews. You will have experience managing complex transformational and/or modernization programs built around the procurement of technology solutions, system integrators, and outsourcing service providers. Further you will also possess experience with complex technology, business processes or general outsourcing contracts, and outsourcing advisory in general.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting relevant to our clients, sectors, and industries. Bring a deep understanding of cloud technologies and the integration and implementation of emerging technology into business solutions. You possess hands-on experience in delivering complex technology solutions.

  • Architectural Assessment and Road Mapping: Evaluate and assess complex technology application ecosystems and architectures, considering solution options and recommending implementation approaches. Develop comprehensive roadmaps that align with business goals and drive digital transformation initiatives across our clients. Building business models into technical models and architectures to guide implementation teams using architecture tools.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve:

  • Deep experience linking business and technology strategies, plans, and roadmaps, using enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks with the ability to translate technical concepts into executive level presentations and discussions
  • The ability to lead the solution perspective and teams, developing complex solutions across multiple technology eco-system vendors and develop actionable insights from Architectural principles and priorities
  • Demonstrated executive level communications skills with prior working experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience with vendor relationship management, including processes, best practices, and governance structure
  • Hands-on knowledge of leading systems used in the Public Sector and experience with contract negotiations, including an understanding of standard clauses / SLAs, major risk areas, and approaches to achieving favorable outcomes for all parties
  • Experience developing and maintaining an enterprise architecture artifact, including detailed technical designs for enterprise solutions, with a consideration of dependencies across solutions
  • Understands the vendor landscape, including major players in the outsourcing market and their core offerings
  • Experience integrating solutions across SaaS, Cloud native as well as Outsource providers and their related data flows
  • Experience using Enterprise Architecture modeling tools, Enterprise architecture certifications, such as TOGAF, along with relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect), demonstrating a strong foundation in architectural principles, frameworks, and cloud technologies
  • Ability to achieve Reliability Clearance with the Government of Canada
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
