POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Manager, Development Accounting, this position is responsible for Development Accounting analysis, Construction / Development project cash flows / budgeting / re-forecasting and all job cost / procurement input, and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Yardi Business Unit Set-up for Development, CapEx and Tenant Construction projects
- Input, update and track Development, Construction and Renovation budgets
- Support the Development department in Pro-Forma preparation, budgeting and reforecasting
- Collaborate with the Development department in the preparation of monthly/quarterly variance reporting. Monitor and reconcile project variances(Budget, purchase orders, cost to date) to ensure financial reporting requirements are met
- Development Cash-flow update
- Enter Accounting and Procurement Ledger Journal Entries
- Calculate cost to complete and PUD/IPP value splits for IFRS valuation purposes
- Monthly Bank reconciliations
- Monthly HST filing
- Prepare working paper files for submission to internal and external auditors
- Other duties / projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to understand detailed financials and contractual information
- Ability to identify deficiencies, errors and misrepresentations in financial reporting
- Ability to apply logic and reasoning when analyzing development projects
- College Diploma or Certificate in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 3 years of Development Accounting experience or equivalent
- Experience with Residential
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational and analytical skills
- Experience using Yardi, Hubble, and Argus
- Proficient in Word, Intermediate Excel and Outlook
