Job Summary
Detailer is responsible for creating detailed drawings and models for metal building projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. This role involves collaborating with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality work that meets safety and design standards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for metal building systems
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure design accuracy
- Review and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and contracts
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, building codes, and regulations
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior detailers
- Perform quality control checks to ensure all designs meet project requirements
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve any design-related issues
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project timelines are met
- Assist in the preparation of project estimates and budgets
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in metal building technologies
Skills/Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or certification in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in detailing metal building systems.
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures experience required.
- Must have proven experience in structural steel.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MBS).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
