Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and administrative skills, making it essential for candidates to be well-rounded in the dental field.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and patient comfort.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for examinations and treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
- Schedule appointments and handle patient inquiries effectively.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office, including sterilization of instruments.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or familiarity with the following skills:
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) related to dental procedures.
- Knowledge of orthodontics practices and procedures.
- Previous experience in dental assisting or as a dental receptionist is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Epic software for managing patient records is a plus.
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with AbelDent software for scheduling and billing is advantageous.
- Background in pediatrics is beneficial when working with younger patients.
