Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to safety regulations. The Delivery Driver will operate various vehicles, including trucks and cube vans, and may be involved in loading and unloading freight.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in the maintenance of delivery vehicles, including basic automotive repairs when necessary.
- Operate heavy equipment as required for loading/unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license preferred; experience in commercial driving is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience in automotive repair is a plus but not required.
