Nature & Scope
The Server will be responsible to make connections with guests during service to ensure proper communication, satisfaction, including but not limited to allergy checks, and quality control checks. Focus on maintaining optimum quality, excellent customer service, and food/beverage safety standards during service.
Duties
- Ensuring guests are given prompt, attentive and unobstructed service at all times
- Read and understand the menu offerings, ensuring familiarity for explaining to guests
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and food to customers
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your serving section
- Ensure closing/cleaning duties are completed prior to end of all shifts
- Performing any related duties, as required, throughout service periods
- Dealing with guest complaints in a professional, helpful, and friendly manner
- Report any concerns to your Manager
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by anticipating customer needs and preferences
- Cleaning and removal of garbage/compost/recycling, as required
- Assist in restocking inventory and replenishing supplies as needed
- Communication with BOH team in a friendly and positive manner to ensure effetive cooperation and communication at all times
Skills
- Experience with Touch Bistro and Tock would be an asset
- Proficient in cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in a related role is preferred
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience using POS (Point of Sale) systems for order processing
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service even during busy periods or during stressful situations
- Promote teamwork, cleanliness, and professionalism (i.e. only engage in work-appropriate conversations and behaviours)
Requirements
- 1+ years experience as a server in the hospitality industry
- Scheduling availability for Friday evenings and Saturdays is required
- A valid Driver's License is an asset
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry 25 lbs as well as experience with large serving trays is an asset
- Ability to stand and be mobile for an excess of 8 hours
- Being a team player and willingness to take direction
- SmartServe required, including compliance to SmartServe standards for service
- Bilingual in French and English would be an asset
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
