Active Furiends is a locally trusted and growing pet care company in Calgary. We pride ourselves on offering compassionate, personalized care to pets in the comfort of their own homes. We are currently looking for dedicated, responsible, and animal-loving individuals to join our Overnight Pet Sitting team.
Position Overview:
This role is strictly for overnight pet sitting in clients’ homes. Stays can vary from a single night to up to 3 weeks at a time, depending on the client's travel schedule. This is a live-in position where you're expected to stay in the home each night and follow the pet’s established routine.
You may leave the home for up to 4–5 hours at a time, but your primary responsibility is being present and consistent for the pets, especially overnight. Applicants who are open to potential future dog walking opportunities are encouraged to apply, but this position is solely for overnights at this time.
Responsibilities:
- Stay overnight in clients' homes to provide companionship and supervision for pets.
- Stick to the pet’s established routine for feeding, medications, potty breaks, and walks.
- Provide lots of love, play, and attention while respecting individual pet personalities.
- Ensure pets’ safety and comfort at all times.
- Water plants, bring in mail, and maintain the home's cleanliness.
- Clean up after pets (including litter boxes, accidents, and waste during walks).
- Provide regular updates to pet parents (photos, videos, and written summaries).
- Be reliable, communicative, and respectful in clients’ homes.
Ideal Candidate:
✔ Has a genuine love for animals and previous experience with pet care (personal or professional).
✔ Can commit to staying overnight in a client’s home for the full duration of the booking.
✔ Has reliable transportation to travel between locations in Calgary.
✔ Is 18 years or older with a clean background check.
✔ Can work independently and problem-solve calmly under pressure.
✔ Is flexible, trustworthy, and highly dependable.
✔ Pet First Aid certified (or willing to become certified through our in-team course).
✔ Open to future roles in dog walking, drop-in visits, or extended care services.
Locations Needed:
We are hiring overnight sitters for all Calgary quadrants, with higher demand in:
- NW & NE
- SE & SW
- Cochrane area (must be a local)
- Okotoks (must be a local)
- Airdrie (must be a local)
