We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
Role Overview:
The role is primarily focused on the completion of daily pre-funding credit quality reviews of single family residential mortgages to ensure adherence to Peoples Group’s (PG) policies, procedures, default insurer and regulatory requirements. This includes close collaboration with the internal mortgage underwriting team and other stakeholders on any identified file issues for successful and timely resolution. The individual proactively monitors the daily deal pipeline, reprioritizes file reviews, as necessary, and produces daily pipeline reporting to management.
A key aspect of the role involves daily use of MS Excel to accurately record and score all files reviewed including clear coach-back notes on any non-critical errors to avoid repetition. This supports the production of accurate and valuable monthly management reporting to all stakeholders. The position also includes following up on and tracking EDD Head's Up Fraud Alerts received from default insurers. The individual is also responsible for performing a variety of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc sample post-funding audits, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Brings a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Credit Quality Assurance/Auditing role within the financial services industry in Canada.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both French and English.
- Post-secondary degree.
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical.
- Demonstrated understanding of credit guidelines and compliance requirements for residential mortgage lending.
- Good knowledge of mortgage markets, lending products and consumer laws in Canada.
- Experience in working with both internal and external partners to complete assigned tasks on time and proactively provide feedback on any issues identified.
- Good working knowledge of KYC and AML/ATF.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Products, with intermediate to advanced capabilities in Excel as well as Lending Operating Systems.
- Ability to work as a supportive team player.
- Experience in procedure writing is an asset.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $65,000 and $75,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
