True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a customer service-oriented team leader to join our team.

As Coordinator, Retail Operations, you’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day retail functions across Jets Gear stores, TrueNorthShop.com, and during Winnipeg Jets game nights. From assisting with inventory processes to ensuring a seamless customer experience, you’ll help keep operations running smoothly and contribute to the overall success of our retail strategy.


What to be excited for in this role
:

  • Game Night Scheduling & Support: Schedule part-time employees for all sporting events using Workforce software. Communicate with employees, manage shift changes, and ensure game nights are well-staffed and run smoothly.
  • Employee Engagement & Leadership: Work closely with employees to understand availability and needs. Meet supervisors before each game, attend pre-event planning meetings, and provide post-game reports to leadership.
  • Retail Hiring & Training: Support recruitment and training of enthusiastic retail team members with a focus on customer service, sales, and loss prevention.
  • Merchandising: Collaborate with retail leaders to implement merchandising plans at stores and kiosks. Maintain high visual standards and help design product layouts to optimize sales and traffic flow.
  • E-Commerce & Internal Orders: Assist with TrueNorthShop.com by updating product listings, resolving customer service inquiries, and supporting order fulfillment. Manage internal purchase order requests and coordinate product movement across locations.
  • Team Participation: Take part in inventory counts, weekly retail meetings, and bi-weekly planning sessions with the Sea Bears team.
  • Perform other duties as required that align with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization.

What we need from you:

  • Proven retail experience, ideally in a supervisory role.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and judgment to aid in management of relationships with various clients, suppliers’ subordinates, peers and supervisors as required in this role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive in anticipating problems and/or issues and providing superior customer service solutions.
  • Results-oriented with excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a diverse and evolving environment, independently managing deadlines and corresponding workload.
  • Solid understanding of database processes and retail software; proficient in PC tools, especially spreadsheets.
  • Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering quality customer experiences.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
