About Ruth and Naomi’s Mission
For over 20 years, Ruth and Naomi’s Mission has been walking alongside people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction in Chilliwack. We provide over 500 meals daily, shelter for 200 people each night, and recovery services for men and women.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Full-Time Cook to join our dedicated Kitchen Team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring every meal served is nutritious, high quality, and prepared with care and dignity. This role supports operations across two kitchens serving a wide range of guests, including shelter residents, supportive housing tenants, and recovery program participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to weekly menus
- Follow safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Assist with inventory management and minimize food waste
- Mentor and support volunteers and work experience participants in the kitchen
- Collaborate with kitchen team members and program staff to ensure seamless service
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume or commercial kitchen
- Valid Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to adapt to different dietary needs and available inventory
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Compassion and respect for vulnerable populations
- Red Seal or Culinary Arts Certification an asset but not required

Schedule
- Full-time, 37.5–40 hours per week
- Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
