Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires effective leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Oversee budgeting and cost control measures, ensuring that projects remain within financial constraints.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure accurate project delivery.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Utilize construction management software if applicable, such as Bluebeam, for documentation and communication purposes.
- Implement relevant safety standards on site to promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff or crew as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, including project scheduling, budgeting, and estimating.
- Familiarity with construction management software is an asset.
- Excellent understanding of OSHA regulations and safety practices in the construction field.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen.
- Valid Drivers License Required.
