Key Responsibilities
1. Site Management & Project Execution
- Lead and manage all daily activities on the construction site.
- Coordinate the work of all trades (HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, tiling) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Achieve project milestones and maintain progress according to the construction schedule.
2. Health & Safety Leadership
- Ensure full compliance with site safety protocols and the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Confirm all contractors and subcontractors possess up-to-date safety certifications.
3. Quality Assurance & Control
- Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Identify and resolve deficiencies or quality concerns in a timely manner.
4. Team Communication & Reporting
- Maintain consistent communication with the General Contractor, Project Manager, and Head Office.
- Submit detailed daily and weekly progress reports, including photos, accomplishments, challenges, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Record and report all incidents, delays, or changes to the project plan.
5. Site Logistics & Management
- Oversee deliveries, material storage, and site organization to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
- Monitor equipment usage and manage site access for all personnel, including workers, inspectors, and visitors.
- Maintain a sign-in/sign-out log with name, address, phone number, and email for all visitors and workers.
- Coordinate the setup and maintenance of temporary facilities, fencing, signage, and portable toilets in accordance with municipal regulations.
6. Subcontractor & Supplier Relations
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure contract compliance and adherence to project standards.
- Maintain open communication with suppliers and trades to ensure timely delivery of materials and continuous workflow.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with trade leads to align daily schedules and resolve inter-trade issues.
7. Problem-Solving & Risk Management
- Identify and proactively address potential project delays related to weather, material shortages, or workforce availability.
- Resolve on-site issues efficiently to avoid disruption.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to manage design-related changes or challenges encountered on site.
8. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate daily site logs, safety checklists, and inspection reports.
- Track meeting notes, trade activities, and delivery schedules.
- Organize all project documentation for audits, safety reviews, and final approvals.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or site supervision.
- Educational background in a construction-related field, such as:
- Architecture (trained outside of Canada accepted)
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering (trained outside of Canada, not licensed in Canada accepted)
- Project Management with relevant construction site experience
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code, construction safety regulations, and multi-trade coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license.

Pay: $48,000.00-$48,000.01 per year
