We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our growing team. This is a key role for ensuring the safety and compliance of our job sites and fleet operations across a variety of high-risk construction projects, including asbestos abatement, demolition, and excavation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site safety inspections to ensure compliance with COR Certification standards and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Monitor and enforce adherence to all safety protocols and procedures
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions
- Provide coaching, support, and guidance to site supervisors and crews to maintain a strong safety culture
- Oversee and manage NSC (National Safety Code) and Fleet Compliance including vehicle inspections, record-keeping, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Track and follow up on outstanding safety items with due diligence and accountability
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures
- Maintain an organized safety management system and ensure timely follow-up on all compliance issues
Qualifications:
- Certified CSO with a strong understanding of WorkSafeBC regulations and COR certification requirements
- Experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, or excavation is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in digital tools and systems for inspections, audits, and record-keeping
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
