The Construction Estimator is responsible for projecting construction costs including materials and labour associated with construction project requirements.
Responsibilities
Actively pursue new bid opportunities
Prepares bids by understanding plans, requirements, updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each project.
Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors.
Organize and prepare pre-bid packages; secure plans, specifications, addendums, etc.
Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Provide complete and accurate quantity take-offs
Review bid specifications/blueprints in order to prepare bid package requirements
Communicate with vendors for all trades.
Preparing cost analysis for labour, equipment and materials
Analyze and comprehend plan sets and construction drawings.
Solicit sub-contractors and evaluate bids.
Monitor and qualify sub-contractor bid submittals.
Provide complete estimates in client’s custom proposal forms.
Attend bid openings and pre-construction meetings when warranted
Position requires close communication with internal operations
Consults with operations to develop innovative and diverse service solutions.
Must have minimum 5 years experience estimating in Canada.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
