- Location: FinDev Canada headquarters is in downtown Montreal. This team is based in Ottawa, but for the right candidate Montreal or Toronto will be considered, with the flexibility to work under a hybrid model (home/office).

Position & Team Overview
FinDev Canada is seeking a Strategic Planning and Execution Advisor, who aspires to be a part of a dynamic team responsible for Strategic Planning and Initiative Execution. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented and customer-focused team player to contribute to development through the private sector across emerging markets and developing economies.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning and Execution, the successful candidate will play a critical role in helping to articulate strategy at the corporate level, developing and refining the tools and systems which will help translate that strategy into plans with measurable deliverables and results, and bringing rigour to initiative execution while supporting the development of an operational excellence culture at FinDev Canada.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Corporate Planning: Support the writing and coordination of FinDev Canada’s corporate plan, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and organizational goals.
- Project Management and Coordination: Manage and coordinate cross-functional corporate initiatives and projects, ensuring timely execution and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Change Management: Support the rollout of corporate initiatives and projects by applying change management principles to drive adoption and minimize resistance.
- Event Planning: Organize and coordinate large-scale internal events (e.g., townhalls), ensuring smooth execution and meaningful engagement.
- Process design and mapping to ensure standard process are clear and well-understood by stakeholders.
- Presentation Development: Design and develop high-impact PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate strategic insights and updates
- SharePoint Management: Build and maintain Microsoft SharePoint sites to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and project tracking.
- Strategy Refresh Support: Assist in the planning and rollout of updates to the corporate strategy, ensuring alignment across the organization.
- Facilitation: Lead retrospectives and lessons learned sessions to capture insights and drive continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in strategic planning, project management, change management or related roles.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual in both English and French.
- Communication: Excellent writing skills, presentation skills and organizational skills
- Other skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Planner).
Nice-to-Haves
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience: Experience in financial services or development finance institutions. Experience with operational excellence including process design and mapping.
