Position Title: Community Workshop Instructor (Part-time)
Pay rate: 21.00/per hour
Contract: 1-year contract with chance of renewal based on performance

Remote/In-Person Work: In-person with occasional work-from-home opportunities.
Location: Brampton Head Office (7700 Hurontario Street Unit 307B, Brampton ON)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and reliable Part-Time Community Workshop Instructor to facilitate and support specialized programs and workshops for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive educational and recreational content across various formats—including in-person, mobile, and online platforms. This position also includes occasional classroom support and coverage as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Online Workshops:
Facilitate interactive and meaningful virtual workshops tailored to the needs and interests of adults with developmental disabilities.
- Facilitate Specialized Programs:
Lead or support specialized in-person programs focused on life skills, wellness, arts, literacy, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Deliver Mobile Workshops:
Occasional workshop delivery to community partner agencies, based on community needs and programming available.
- Provide Classroom Coverage:
Offer occasional coverage and instructional support for other instructors or programs, maintaining continuity and engagement in the classroom setting.
- Support Individualized Needs:
Modify activities and instructional methods to suit various learning styles and ability levels.
- Maintain Documentation:
Complete attendance records, learner progress reports, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure Participant Safety and Well-being:
Follow organizational protocols to ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in an instructional or recreational setting.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage group dynamics and respond to diverse participant needs with patience and creativity.
- Highly motivated and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Understanding disability and social equity issues would be an asset.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required
- Standard First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work variable hours, as needed.
- Educational background in Developmental Services Worker, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Child Youth Care or a related field.
Working Environment:
- Flexible work hours are required but standard workday will be:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
- Successful hire must be able to work in-person and virtually in accordance with the program they are delivering.
- During times of special projects or when asked – the hours of work may be beyond those listed and will be paid accordingly.
- Low to moderate stress levels given time of year and learner registration volumes and/or engagement.
- Our environment is dynamic and fast paced – must be able to interact with a variety of community members, on the go staff as well as learners.
- Some lifting of small boxes and other small tasks may be needed.
- A vulnerable sector check will be required as a condition upon offer of employment.
- Would be ideal to have access to a vehicle as travel will be needed.
