Recreational Respite is a National Corporation that is active across all of Canada, with the exception of Quebec and the Northern Territories. We are rewarding, engaging, and inclusive, our goal is to provide one to one in person support that embodies the whole picture of someone and the barriers they face. We work as a team to ensure we have obtainable short term and long term goals in the areas of social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual well-being. What is a Community Engagement Provider (CEP)?

A CEP is a passionate individual, and a crucial part of our team. The CEP is the feet on the ground person providing direct support to our clients. The CEP works within our clients home, or in the community engaging in supportive assistance to help our clients reach their goals.

Do you have empathy and compassion for those in your community, want to make a difference in somebody's life, have experience supporting individuals with barriers to participation, either mental health or disabilities, did you take, or are you taking post secondary education in one of the following field of study:

-Recreation Therapy

-Recreation and Leisure Services

-Early Childhood Educator or Educational Assistant

-Child and Youth Worker

-Social Service Worker or Social Worker

-Developmental Service Worker

-Disability Studies

-Psychology or Counselling Program

-Another Human/Health Service Field

If so….we would LOVE to connect with you. We are looking to grow our team and offer unique experiences supporting our clients in your area. This role is an Independent Contractor role, so your hours are based on which clients you pick up and add to your schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):

Must be able to identify needs, abilities, strengths and interests and adapt programming on an individual basis with a strong additional focus on family and caregiver support.

Ongoing evaluation of progress and identifying key aspects of plan.

Must have proven programming techniques to improve the physical, cognitive, emotional and social health, promoting connectivity and participation.

SKILLS

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid and CPR certification

Vulnerable Sector check within the last 6 months

Reliable means of transportation is a must

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 15 per week
