Position: Common Areas Attendant

Job Summary:
The Common Areas Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of all public and shared spaces within the Hotel, such as lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms and lounges, ensuring they meet Hard Rock’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role plays a key part in delivering a legendary guest experience by supporting the housekeeping team in maintaining the property’s operational excellence. This role ensures a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all residents, guests, and staff.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position. Schedule will consist of Afternoon hours (3pm-1130pm) Monday to Friday, unless otherwise noted.
Common Areas Attendant – Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleanliness
- Clean and sanitize all public areas including lobbies, restrooms, elevators, lounges, and other common areas.
- Empty and sanitize waste receptacles regularly.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in designated areas.
- Restock toiletries in restrooms as necessary.
- Respond to guest concerns or spills promptly and professionally.
- Maintains pool and fitness room supplies of towels.
- Health and safety
- Ensure all surfaces and areas are clean and sanitized regularly.
- Report any health and safety or maintenance concerns/issues to your direct supervisor/director as required.
- Ensures proper care of linens to extend their life and maintain quality.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures including proper use of PPE and chemical handling.
- Teamwork & Support:
- Works cooperatively with housekeeping and uniformed services to ensure timely linen delivery and pickup.
- Assists with special cleaning projects or guest laundry services as needed.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to uniform standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Time management and task prioritization.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Certifications & Requirements:
- No specific certifications are required.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and push/pull laundry carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stretching, standing for prolonged periods, and repetitive arm/hand movements.
- Must be able to work with common cleaning chemicals
- Must be able to visually inspect areas and communicate effectively.
- Ability to tolerate heat and humidity from industrial laundry equipment.
