We are looking for a Coding Instructor (In Person) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: TEACHING KIDS TO CODE THROUGH DEVELOPING VIDEO GAMES.

Our main part of our Centre is called a “Dojo”, our mentors/coaches are “Senseis”, and our students are “Ninjas”. HI-Yah!
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Code Ninjas Brampton Castlemore is looking for a Coding instructor (Code Sensei) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds. Our Sensies are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to management on a regular basis
- Cover missing shift/duties when required
- Create a positive and safe environment in which students are inspired and impacted
- Work with children to determine skill sets
- Training – go through the curriculum and learn it to ensure it is delivered in an appropriate fashion
- Delivering virtual courses and camps to Ninjas not coming into the Dojo
- Deliver in-centre camps throughout summer months and on the weekends throughout the year
- Provide feedback to parents after working with a student.
- Working with ninjas of concern by documenting progress, providing solutions, and updating parents
- Follow opening/closing duties daily
- Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness was kept up to corporate standards
- Report daily to Center Manager with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given if the candidate resides in Brampton.
- You MUST have a growth mindset, be willing to learn, and work as a team. You MUST also be FUN to work with! A sense of humour is important.
- Working history with children ages 5 and up (camps, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.)MUST LOVE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN.
- Current or graduated students from university or college with discipline related to Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development/Programming/Design, E-sports, Robotics, or relevant discipline preferred.
- Must be patient and enjoy working with children
- Experience working with the general public
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or child care
- Works well with others; collaborates
- Reliable, well-organized, and committed
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification is an asset but not mandatory.
Expected hours: 0-24 hrs
