Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage freight effectively. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks and other commercial vehicles to transport goods over long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo during transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle readiness.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including forklifts for loading and unloading freight.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and logistics management.
- Basic automotive repair skills to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
