Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and monitor chrome plating tanks and related equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Perform all preparation prior to plating (e.g. Cleaning/masking/blasting)
- Calculate the surface to be plated, determine number of loads, and calculate the amperage per square foot/inch
- Process parts according to specifications, dimensional inspect parts using micrometers and thickness gauges to confirm plating thickness and visual inspection of the appearance of coating
- Strictly follow Company policy and procedures, verify for calibration and maintain in good working condition instruments, gauges, equipment, and chemicals.
- Troubleshoot issues with plating defects such as pitting, peeling, or discoloration.
- Personally observe safety procedures and proper use of equipment and material.
Requirements
Other requirements are:
- Previous chrome plating or metal finishing preferred
- Knowledge of electroplating techniques, chemical handling and safety procedures.
- Organized and capable of working in fast-paced environments
- Interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Available to work occasional overtime.
