Part-Time Chiropodist – Immediate Opening
Overview
We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Chiropodist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality foot care, including the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions. A strong focus will be placed on the prescription and fitting of custom orthotics, along with overall patient-centered care.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about improving mobility, preventing complications, and enhancing the overall quality of life for patients through specialized foot care services in an outpatient clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ foot and lower limb health, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations.
- Design, prescribe, and fit custom orthotics tailored to individual patient needs and biomechanical issues.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including routine foot care, wound care, and nail procedures.
- Administer medications and perform minor procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical record systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Educate patients on proper foot hygiene, footwear selection, and preventative measures.
- Monitor patient progress and provide consistent follow-up care.
- Participate in data collection, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing as a Chiropodist or Podiatrist in Ontario (or relevant jurisdiction).
- Strong knowledge of biomechanics and orthotic therapy.
- Experience in custom orthotic prescription, modification, and fitting is highly preferred.
