Position Overview:
We are looking for a Certified Early Childhood Educator to work alongside another educator with a maximum group size of 8 children. This role is ideal for someone looking to make an immediate impact in a nurturing and supportive setting.
Key Details:
- Start Date: TBD
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Compensation: $24.00-$26.00/hour (inclusive of the $6/hour government wage enhancement)
Requirements:
- Valid ECE Certification in British Columbia (5 year)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning practices
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required
- Positive, nurturing, and team-oriented attitude
Responsibilities – Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
- Supervise and ensure the safety of all children at all times.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s development.
- Use positive guidance techniques to support behaviour and self-regulation.
- Maintain open communication with families, colleagues, and the Director.
- Observe and document children’s learning and behavior.
- Support daily routines such as meals, toileting, outdoor play, and rest time.
- Follow centre policies and licensing regulations, including hygiene and health protocols.
- The position requires the ability to work independently during the morning or the final hour of the day, including closing procedures and end-of-day cleanup responsibilities.
