Saugeen Shores Family Dentistry is seeking a dedicated and skilled, friendly and energetic Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about dentistry and committed to ensuring a positive experience for our patients. The successful candidate will have a passion for building strong patient relationships and contributing to the ongoing oral health of their community.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area in compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Certified and experienced Dental Assistant
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Familiarity with dental software Open Dental or similar is highly desirable.
- Experience in orthodontics and pediatrics is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be HARP certified
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of dentistry.
