Transdev Canada is hiring Casual Paratransit Operators for our Regina location.

As a Paratransit Operator, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Your Role

  • Safely and courteously assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle.
  • Operate Paratransit vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
  • Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.
  • Maintains a strong attendance record.
  • Possess a functional knowledge of the demographics of the service area.
  • Notifies dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble.

Your Profile

  • You have a valid SK Class 4 Unrestricted license.
  • You have a clear driver abstract and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
  • You have strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities.
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to read maps, interpret transit operating rules and policies.
  • You have the ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
  • You have physical ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections, assist passengers and must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • You are able to pass vulnerable records check and drug/alcohol testing.
  • You are reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work a variety of shift.

Your Location

  • This is a casual, unionized position located in Regina (SK).
  • Shifts are subject to frequent changes based on operational needs.
  • Transit environment: early, split, late, weekends and holidays shifts may be required.
