We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our Carrier Compliance Team within the Transportation Division. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety of both the commercial trucking industry and the general public by providing guidance on Yukon and federally mandated commercial transportation regulations. Responsibilities include conducting various safety inspections, monitoring vehicle weights and dimensions, and ensuring compliance with transportation laws. The role also involves issuing summary conviction tickets for non-compliance when necessary.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Experience conducting inspections, investigations, or audits, and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience providing education or guidance to the public or industry stakeholders.
- Experience interpreting and advising on regulations and legislation would be considered an asset.
- Coursework or post-secondary education in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or related field would be considered an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- security clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Check
- class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
- obtain and maintain commerical vehicle safety alliance level 1 inspector's and territorial dangerous goods inspector's certificates (within 1 year)
- airbrake endorsement certification (to be obtained within 1 year of hire)
- standard first aid with CPR (to be acquired within 1 year of hire)
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:
- Shift work in a 24/7 operation
- Work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces
- Capable of lifting up to 22 kg
- Physically able to perform under vehicle inspections
- Wear a uniform provided by the department
- Maintain commercial vehicle safety alliance level 1 inspector's and territorial dangerous goods inspector's certificates
