Job Summary
International Water-Guard is looking for a highly organized and resourceful Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting production needs. You’ll play a key role in ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality compliance in a regulated industry.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Secure and evaluate quotes for materials and services in a strictly regulated industry, observing AS9100 standards and Transport Canada compliant policies;
· Manage POs in a timely, organized, and efficient manner: placing, confirming, expediting, and cancelling/rescheduling when necessary;
· Build trust and relationships to help negotiate pricing, terms and delivery;
· Maintain accurate supplier and order-specific information in ERP;
· Monitor the flow of materials and order status to meet production schedules/requirements;
· Work with Quality Dept. personnel to uphold compliance programs, to evaluate suppliers, and to resolve product discrepancies;
· Investigate price increases, source/recommend new and alternative parts and suppliers.
· Pro-actively recognize cost-reduction opportunities and implement process improvements;
· Deliver timely, value-added reports, performance measurements and searches to users;
· Any other reasonable task requested by the company.

· Ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on requirements;
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with vendors, co-workers and staff at all levels;
· Ability to coordinate multiple projects and establish priorities which accurately reflect the importance of the job responsibilities, the departmental objectives and requisition workload;
· Analytical capabilities to identify critical terms and conditions in contracts, and to identify opportunities to improve processes. Commitment to the concept of continuous improvement;
· Demonstrated skill in performing under the pressure of frequent interruptions, conflicting demands, changing priorities, and heavy workloads. Must be able to identify errors and nonstandard situations and suggest alternatives;
· Technical background sufficient to evaluate supplier capabilities, explore alternative manufacturing options with suppliers, and add value to IWG Engineering support is an asset;
· Computer literacy including knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access;
· An SCMP or other related designation is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
