Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our Overhead team! The Business Analyst will be responsible for coordinating, administering, developing, implementing and maintaining the Section’s business systems, relevant applications, processes, and procedures to ensure that business needs are met. The Business Analyst will conduct cost-benefit and feasibility studies and design and implement medium and high complexity systems. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for developing business solutions, configuring applications and providing quality assurance testing and trainings for system related projects.
What You Will Do
- Ensure information management control systems relating to the Overhead operations section are developed, administered and maintained.
- Conduct cost benefit/feasibility studies and system design/implementation of both medium and high complexity systems.
- Formulate statements of business and system requirements, perform detailed analyses, prepare and review detailed business documentation and functional specification.
- Design and develop proposals, forms, workflows, business processes, data modelling requirements and systems specifications.
- Develop solutions and plans to implement new systems, policies, procedures and end-user requirements to meet business needs.
- Inform senior management of progress and project status, and make recommendations with regards to potential efficiencies by providing statistical analyses, summaries, KPI's, charts, graphs, etc.
- Act as a Project Leader for various system related projects, and develop business solutions, configure applications, and provide quality assurance testing.
- Assist, guide and train other employees regarding computerized systems and applications within the Department.
- Research and report on procedural problems and provide data to other departments as required.
- Identify information system requirements/changes and assist in developing justification for system implementation and/or changes.
- Administer, maintain and update systems, relevant policies, procedures, and materials.
- Oversee and work with 3rd party vendors to ensure work is carried out appropriately and to specification.
- Communicate with management, and key stakeholders on findings, major issues, proposed changes, and progress.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Your application will reveal strong knowledge of information systems such as IBM Maximo, SAP, SharePoint and computer technology concepts, principles and practices and their application in a business environment.
- Strong technology background with experience leading and developing large scale computer application or information systems projects is considered an asset.
- Your application will reveal comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis and database design concepts and practices.
- You must have sound knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of current computer applications, software, office automation technology, and PC hardware/software.
- Your application will reveal a strong ability to plan, conduct, coordinate and manage various projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
- Must have, or rapidly acquire familiarity with the various types of equipment used in the Section, as well as the associated maintenance requirements, equipment lifecycles, work methods, maintenance procedures etc.
- Must have good judgement; well-developed analytical and problem solving skills; effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed time management and presentation skills is essential to this role, along with the ability to train and coach peers using easy to understand terms.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must have or quickly acquire knowledge of TTC and Departmental policies and procedures applicable to the work performed.
