About Us:
Calvinho Abergel Criminal Defence is a busy boutique criminal defence law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. Due to the nature of our accounting software, this is an in person position. As a bookkeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage financial records for the firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and track client trust accounts.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Support tax preparation and liaise with accountants as necessary.
- Ensure financial records are in compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Perform any other bookkeeping tasks as needed to support the firm’s financial operations.
Requirements:
- Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legal billing practices.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping software (experience with PCLaw).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Schedule:
- The position requires you to come into the office during business hours one to two times a week, as needed, to perform the necessary bookkeeping duties.
- Flexible hours based on agreement with the firm.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $45.00 per hour
